The Iliad is an Ancient Greek epic poem written by Homer during the 8th century BCE. It is set during the ninth year of a ten year war known as the Trojan War. It follows the consequences of a quarrel between King Agamemnon of the Achaeans and the greatest warrior alive, Achilles.
